Dracula Travel Guide: Information for literary agents

The text of this Travel Guide is complete and has been updated in December 2019. The whole text has been typeset in InDesign, and all photos for the book have been edited. The next step would be to insert the photos into the book. Of course, I can also provide the text in MS Word or Libre Office format, and the image files as a ZIP-folder.

In 2015, I already received an offer from an US publisher, which would grant me 2% royalties on the end price, provided that I would reset the complete text to fit the formatting templates defined by the publisher. For me, this made no sense economically, and I decided to focus on completing Powers of Darkness instead. I would be interested to work with an established trade book or travel guide publisher, though, who would offer market rate royalties.

This book adresses all fans of Dracula, especially those who are interested the sites actually connected with the novel, instead of "tourist traps" such as Bran Castle. It contains unique route descriptions to the location Bram Stoker had in mind for his (fictitious) Castle Dracula, and the site of the Scholomance, both high up in the Carpathian Mountains. The volume is also relevant for academic Dracula experts and university libraries, as it contains my groundbreaking discoveries on the geographic backgrounds of Stoker's novel, that by now have been embraced by the Bram Stoker Estate and the Transylvanian Society of Dracula. As early as November 2013, I made a promotion tour through Romania together with Bram's great-grandnephew Dacre Stoker, and Aaron Sagers for Travel Chanel. The idea of a new Travel Guide was very well received by the Romanian press (see here). I also created the website dractravel.com, that reflects the situation of 2013-2014.

If you are interested in this project, please drop me a note, and I can send you the (unillustrated) manuscript as a PDF file (2 Mb), as well a a number of sample illustrations. For the slideshow banner above, I selected ca. 60 pictures from the available landcape format images; altogether, ca. 200 edited photos are available. I also have an illustrated presentation available for publishers.
